Celena Rader-Lambdin is the new Associate Director for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Emma Hlubb is the Director of Financial Aid and Lynn Ives is the Associate Director of Financial Aid at Martin Methodist College.

Becky Stallard is the new Financial Aid Assistant at ETSU College of Medicine.

Chateeka Farris is now the Financial Aid Director, Macon Cove Campus, at Southwest Tennessee Community College. Teeka moved into my old position July 1, 2008 after my retirement in January, 2008. She was formerly the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Union Avenue Campus.

Old Face-New Place
Bill Edmonds is still at Walters State Community College with a new title of Associate Director of Disability Services/ Financial Aid Liaison as of January 1, 2008. He will work from time to time dealing with financial aid issues at off-campus sites as a secondary function.

News from Trevecca Nazarene University
Paige Stines is a new Financial Aid Counselor. Lisa Goon is the new Financial Aid secretary.

Allison and Cory Snyder are the proud parents of Tatum Reed Snyder born March 26, 2008 at 9:27 a.m. Tatum was 6 lbs., 13 oz. and 19 inches long. (See picture below)

On Sunday, March 30, 2008, Savannah Camille Lyons, daughter of Stephanie and Jason Lyons was born. Weight - 5 lbs., 13 oz.; Length - 19 inches long. (See picture below)

Torrence and Melanie McKnight are happy to announce that on June 8, 2008 at 5:27 pm, Torrence Ashton McKnight, Jr. was born weighing in a whopping 8lbs. and 20 inches long. Melanie and the baby are doing great!

Savannah Camille Lyons Tatum Reed Snyder

Karen Hauser, a member of the staff of the Office of Student Financial Aid at Vanderbilt University since 2002, was promoted to the position of Assistant Director for Student Employment on February 1, 2008. In her new role, Karen replaced Leslie Madden, who resigned in order to pursue a career in nursing. Karen previously served as a Financial Aid Officer and most recently, as a Program Coordinator. Her new duties include the responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the Student Employment Area (SEA) of the Office of Student Financial Aid, including the supervision of the three full-time staff members and the student employees who work in the SEA. She will also have the responsibility for providing financial aid counseling and advising to students enrolled in the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt, and will also be charged with reviewing Owen students’ applications for financial aid, completing federal verification in those instances in which verification of application data is required, and packaging aid for eligible students. In addition, Karen will represent the Office of Student Financial Aid at the various Owen School student recruitment and orientation events.

Maxwell Alexander Dillard was born on September 12, 2008 to Brandon and Courtney Dillard. He weighed in at 8lbs. 3oz. and was 21 inches long. As you can see from the picture, Max has a head full of brown hair, and Dad is working with his hand-eye coordination to ensure that he grows into a star second baseman. At only three weeks old, Max has treated his parents to multiple full nights of sleep already--although this may be a treat now, they're afraid that he will repay them in his teenage years.

Laura Land
, who first joined the staff of the Vanderbilt University Office of Student Financial Aid in 1996, was promoted to the position of Program Coordinator on March 1, 2008. In her new role, Laura replaced Karen Hauser, who was promoted to the position of Assistant Director for Student Employment. Prior to her promotion, Laura was serving as Senior Financial Aid Officer. Her new job duties include the day-to-day management of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) Program, the Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA) Program, the Federal ACG Grant Program and the Federal National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) Grant Program. In addition, Laura will continue to oversee some of the other State of Tennessee student financial aid programs, and will also continue to verify and evaluate applications, determine eligibility and construct financial aid packages for eligible undergraduate aid applicants and for eligible graduate/professional aid applicants enrolled in the Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt. She also provide financial aid counseling and advising services to these and to other students, and where applicable, to parents.

On April 1, 2008, Chanell Thomas joined the staff of the Office of Student Financial Aid at Vanderbilt University as a Financial Aid Officer, replacing Laura Land, who was promoted to the position of Program Coordinator. Chanell came to Vanderbilt from the staff of the Office of Student Financial Services at Belmont University, where she served as a financial aid counselor. Chanell is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, having earned both a Bachelor of Science degree (2005) and a Master of Education degree with a concentration in higher education administration (2007). During both her undergraduate and graduate years of study, Chanell worked as a student employee in the Office of Student Financial Aid. In her new role, Chanell will verify and evaluate applications, determine eligibility and construct financial aid packages for undergraduate aid applicants and for eligible aid applicants enrolled in the Vanderbilt University Graduate School. She will also provide financial aid counseling and advising services to these and to other students, and where applicable, to parents.
