Transitions News from Columbia State Community College Marion Shute has recently become the new Account Executive for the state of Tennessee for the Fifth Third Bank Education Lending team. Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank in 2004, Marion was both an Admissions Counselor and the Assistant. Director of Alumni Programs for her alma mater, Asbury College in Kentucky. Marion resides in Lexington, KY with her husband, Dan, and their rapidly growing German Shepherd, Kaiser. Ron Gambill, Chairman/CEO of Edsouth, is serving as the Chair-Elect of NCHELP and will become Chair on July 1, 2008. Also, as of October 1, 2007, Ron is a Director on the National Student Clearinghouse Board for a 3-year term. The Financial Aid Office at Roane State Community College is excited to welcome Sandra Grice to the staff as Coordinator of Veteran's Benefits and Auxiliary Support. Besides working with our veterans, she will also work with the Federal Work-study and Scholarship for Academic Service programs. Sandra has an impressive resume! While she was a student at RSCC in the 70's, she was the basketball manager under Coach Andy Landers. After graduating, she went on to TTU and earned her B.S. and then her law degree from UT. She has and still is serving with the TN Air National Guard with the rank of Lt. Colonel as the Inspector General. At the same time and for the past 17 years, she has worked in various capacities with TVA. So you might ask....why RSCC? She says, "Because RSCC opened the door to every subsequent opportunity I have encountered." Sandra is building a home in Roane County, so she can be close to her parents as they age, and she is ready to "give back" to RSCC and her community. Roane State also welcomes the newest "little" one: Isabel Leigh Magill was born to Misty and Brian on Feb. 1. Misty has worked in the FA Office since 2004 as a FA Assistant.
