Message from the President-Elect “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome!” This quote from the movie, Heartbreak Ridge, comes to mind as I look at the ever-changing landscape of financial aid. As the TASFAA Spring Conference approaches, it brings a reminder that this academic year is quickly coming to a close. I am excited about the upcoming year and the new opportunities and challenges it will bring. But I also expect the events of this next year to give us cause to look to the future of TASFAA and our role in the changing landscape. To that end, many of your TASFAA colleagues have accepted my invitation to serve as a 2008-09 Chair of the various committees and to serve on the TASFAA Board to make sure that our organization is ready for the opportunities and challenges before us. To look to the future, we must also examine and understand our past, and so you will find many familiar faces on the Board, as well as some new ones. I appreciate their willingness to serve and encourage you to join us as they call upon you to serve as members of their respective committees. Your support of TASFAA through volunteering is crucial to the success of our organization. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your 2008-09 TASFAA President. I know that I am but one in a long history of others who worked fervently to insure the future of TASFAA and will do all that I can to continue that tradition. So as we finish out this year by celebrating our 40th anniversary at the Spring Conference and as we look to the future, I encourage you to “Improvise, Adapt and Overcome” in the coming year. |
